Why choose granite
Granite is quarried stone, cut from slabs, so no two kitchens share the same flecks, veining and movement. That is also why a small sample never shows the whole piece. If seeing your full slab before it is cut matters to you, ask us when you request your quote.
- Handles heat. Its natural makeup takes hot cookware far better than engineered quartz.
- Strong value. Granite is often the better buy per square foot.
- Forgiving in a busy kitchen. A mid-tone speckled granite adds movement and hides everyday crumbs and water spots.
- The trade-off: granite is naturally porous, so it is sealed at install, resealed now and then, and spills should be wiped up.

Sealing and everyday care
Because granite is porous, it is sealed as part of a proper install. After that, plan on resealing about once a year or every other year, depending on the stone and how heavily you use the kitchen. It is a quick job you can do yourself.
- Wipe up oil, wine and coffee instead of letting them sit.
- Clean with mild soap and water, and skip harsh abrasives.
- Use a trivet under very hot cookware to protect the sealer and avoid thermal shock.
- San Antonio’s hot, humid summers make keeping the seal up more important on natural stone, and in kitchens with strong direct sun, darker granites can fade slightly over years of UV.

Pairing granite with your cabinets
A granite with heavy movement wants a quiet, solid cabinet color. Warm granites with brown or gold movement suit Shaker White and soften Navy Blue; a mid-tone speckled granite adds movement to Shaker Gray. Those three are in stock; the rest of our 36 finishes arrive in 1–2 weeks.

The slab is cut, edged and polished, with cutouts for the sink, cooktop and faucet. Edge profiles can’t change after install.
Install & seal
Our own crews set the stone, join the seams, anchor the sink and seal the top, usually in one day.
